Summary : Devcon Security is an ADT dealer based in Florida.

Key information

ADT’s Operation – ADT relies on local dealers to install and maintain their systems. That is why reviews of ADT are so mixed – different dealers will provide different levels of service. Devcon was an independent security company for many years, but is now exclusively an ADT dealer and operates in Florida. Our understanding is that if you contact Devcon and live outside of Florida, they will put you in touch with an ADT dealer near you.

Contract – There is a required 36-month contract for any of the packages listed below. So be sure it’s what you want when you sign the contract and make sure it has the features you want in a home security system.

Customer service – They have multiple phone numbers for you to call in, or you can email them directly if it is not an emergency. You have the option of contacting Devcon or ADT directly. There have been over 200 complaints with the BBB against Devcon in the past three years, but it does appear that the issues have been resolved.

One response to “Devcon Security Review: Florida Based ADT Dealer”

  1. ADT doesn’t “rely on local dealers to install and maintain their systems. That is why reviews of ADT are so mixed – different dealers will provide different levels of service.” ADT uses dealers, yes, but those dealers sell and install their own equipment. ADT, LLC has 17,500+/- Employees.. all triple-background checked. ADT, LLC uses ADT Employees to install, as well as vetted installers from the company that on-boarding is done through. ADT maintains ADT systems PLUS the equipment installed by the dealers, once a certain period of time has elapsed. When you call ADT, that is the name of the company you’re dealing with. When dealers are used, they sublimate their name behind ADT’s branding.
