However, the monthly cost of LifeLock’s most comprehensive package is higher compared to other plans from other companies, especially after a year when the price goes up. Ultimately, LifeLock doesn’t have enough standout features to make it worth the extra cost.

LifeLock offers three packages. Each one monitors your basic information, including your Social Security number, address, driver’s license number, and credit information, but only the top-tier package offers a full range of identity theft protection services.
The LifeLock Standard package is the least expensive but also the least comprehensive. For $9.99 per month (for the first year), you get basic identity protection and credit monitoring for just one bureau. After that first year, the monthly price goes up to $12.99 per month.
While this plan is inexpensive compared to other companies, competitors offer much more coverage for not much more money.

There isn’t a huge difference between LifeLock Advantage and the top-tier package, so if you go with LifeLock, Advantage balances price and features better than the other packages.

LifeLock family plan add-ons
LifeLock doesn’t offer a family plan; every adult in your home will need a full-priced membership subscription of their own. However, LifeLock does offer some add-on plans to protect the youngest and oldest members of your family from identity theft.
You might not feel like your children or aging parents need monitoring because they aren’t actively using their credit, but that’s exactly why identity thieves want to steal their information.
LifeLock Junior monitors your child’s personal information and credit to make sure nothing suspicious shows up on their credit report. You can add a LifeLock Junior subscription to any of the adult memberships for $5.99 per month per child. This can add up if you’re covering multiple children—and some competitors offer packages that cover up to 10 children in one plan.
LifeLock Senior is another add-on package that allows you to monitor an older parent’s information and credit. It costs $19.99 per month and monitors bank accounts, credit cards, investment accounts, home titles, address changes, and the dark web.
One of the best things about LifeLock is that all three packages come with a subscription to Norton Security for up to five devices. Norton Security defends your devices from spyware, malware, viruses, and other online attacks, and it protects your online transactions from fraud. LifeLock is one of only a few companies to offer this kind of feature.
LifeLock mobile app
LifeLock offers customers a free mobile app (for iOS and Android) so you can receive notifications and review fraud alerts on your mobile device. You can also view your credit information and, with the Ultimate Plus plan, track your credit score.
The LifeLock app also has an in-app messaging feature to make it easy to contact a customer service representative if you have a question or if you suspect you’re a victim of identity theft.

LifeLock’s Member Services department is available 24/7 by phone and through the LifeLock mobile app’s messaging feature. However, we’d like to see a live chat available online as well.
All LifeLock’s packages renew automatically, either monthly or annually, depending on how you pay for the services. You can cancel your subscription online or over the phone. If you cancel an annual membership within 60 days, you may be eligible to receive a partial refund; however, no refunds are given for monthly memberships.
Customer reviews for LifeLock are mixed, though mostly positive. Many customers praise LifeLock for its services and support—especially victims of identity theft. However, lots of customers are frustrated with the cancellation process, poor customer service, and the price hike after the first year.
While we like LifeLock’s Norton Security subscription with each plan, that’s its only standout feature.
LifeLock’s top package is the only one that includes monitoring from all three credit bureaus, making it the most useful of LifeLock’s three plans. However, we think its price is prohibitively expensive compared to competing companies, especially after the first-year price hike. We prefer IdentityForce for its reasonable pricing and comprehensive features.
